Auditions for"My Fair Lady"running next weekend Auditions for Porthole Players production of "My Fair Lady " will be on Saturday, July 11, with possible callbacks on July 12. Auditions begin at 10 a.m., but participants should come early to sign up. Auditions will take place at Dance And All That Jazz! in Newport. Potential cast members should come prepared to dance, sing, and read dialogue. Those auditioning should also wear comfortable clothing and shoes they can dance in, and bring water . The cast will need a variety of adult males and females. The show will begin March 6, 2010 and run for three weekends, including Fridays, through March 21. It takes a lot of work, time, and dedication to produce a high quality musical. Therefore, Porthole is auditioning for "My Fair Lady" early to allow the cast ample time. Two other Porthole productions are scheduled for the remainder of this year. The newly found comedy by Mark Twain, "Is He Dead" opens Aug. 1 at the Performing Arts Center. The popular and funny "A Christmas Story" will play during Thanksgiving 2009; auditions for the show will be in September.
